Who couldn’t use a door of hope right now? We have hopes things will get better. Spiritually, we know God will pour out of His Spirit in the last days. The former and the latter rain together.
What has to happen first? If we would read Hosea chapter 2, it will give us a good idea.
“…and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the Lord.”(Hosea 2:13) God had been good to Israel and blessed her, yet she played the harlot.
“Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her. And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. (Hosea 2:14-15)
The valley of Achor was where Achan was stoned, along with his wife, children, and animals. Why? Because when Israel went to conquer Jericho, Achan disobeyed God. He took some silver, gold, and a Babylonian garment. This is why the valley is called Achor, the valley of trouble.
Do you mean God is sending me trouble for help?
Unfortunately, we tend to get slack when things go well. We forget where our blessings came from. Have you had a song of praise in your heart lately, like you did when you came out of Egypt (bondage)?
“It shall come about in that day,” says the Lord,
“That you will call Me Ishi (my husband)
And will no longer call Me Baali (my Baal). (Hosea 2:16 AMP)
“And I will sow her unto me in the earth, and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.” (Hosea 2:23)
So if you feel trouble on every side, take heed. God is trying to draw you closer to him. He is giving us a space to repent and return to our first love.
